Phi of DKE

The founding chapter of

Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi

was established June 22,

1844, at Yale College, New

Haven, Connecticut

(renamed Yale University in

1887).

The chapter, begun

by 15 sophomores, was a

protest against the unjust

selections of the two

fraternities then present --

Alpha Delta Phi and Psi

Upsilon.

Phi of DKE is the

only fraternity chapter at

Yale which has never gone

inactive.
