Photos from our regular DKE Quarterly luncheon held in Baton Rouge Friday, October 3rd. We had another good turnout with at least 33 in attendance.
Brother John Bateman, ZZ'56 makes a presentation to Mrs. Carole Anne Blitzer. Mrs. Blitzer is a noted columnist for the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate daily newspaper and has written a couple of articles on Zeta Zeta and The Friars through the years. She has always been very favorable in her reporting and has enjoyed telling the tales of The Friars and Zeta Zeta while recognizing the significant contributions that our alums have made to the State of Louisiana (and elsewhere) in their successes as businessmen, physicians, attorneys, judges, politicians, philanthropists, etc. She was presented with a special memento naming her as an Honorary DEKE of the Zeta Zeta chapter.
Our next meeting will be a Christmas event to be held at the City Club in Baton Rouge on December 5th. As usual all DEKES who reside in the area and any that may be passing thru are always welcome. For details visit the DKE website or contact Brother Sam Thomson at thomsonsbr@cox.net.
The next regular meeting of the Zeta Zeta Quarterly Luncheon group will be held on October 3, 2008 at Juban's Restaurant. Juban's location is 3739 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge. As before, all area DEKES and any DEKE who may be visiting in the area or traveling through is welcome and encouraged to come visit in order to share some brotherhood, good food and a few adult beverages. Cash bar always begins at 11:30 AM with a very informal business luncheon to follow at 12:00 noon. Cost for the luncheon is $25.00 per person. We have picked the date of October 3rd for our next luncheon and a year ending Christmas luncheon to be held at the City Club in Baton Rouge on December 5, 2008. So, please make your plans to be on hand for these future luncheons. We will try some post card notifications for these next two (2) luncheons and see if that helps as a reminder and also serves as notification for those Brothers who do not have e-mail access. So, y'all come and be sure to notify Brother Sam Thomson, ZZ'67 @ thomsonbr@cox.net that you plan on attending. We need to keep Juban's advised of our attendance numbers. This will be very important for the Christmas luncheon. Brother Thomson can also help with directions for anybody not familiar with Juban's or the downtown City Club in Baton Rouge.
