If someone is experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency:

  • Calmly coach them to not harm themselves or others.
  • Call 9-1-1, or other emergency number, and ask the police for assistance and/or a mental health welfare check.
  • Encourage the person to seek assistance at the nearest Emergency Room.
