Fraternity Awards

Fraternity Awards Program

Each year Delta Kappa Epsilon recognizes chapters and members who exemplify the highest standards of the Gentleman, Scholar, and Jolly Good Fellow. These awards range from recognizing chapters whose operations are exemplary, whose commitment to philanthropic and giving efforts are outstanding, and individual members who go above and beyond in service to the Fraternity and their local Greek community.

We invite chapters of the Fraternity to apply for any or all of the awards below if you think your chapter is worthy of recognition. Our awards application assessors use a holistic approach to scoring and awarding recognitions. This means that regardless of chapter size, revenues, or influence, we strive to ensure award recipients are fairly identified and recognized.

The Lion Trophy is DKE’s award for the Most Oustanding Chapter. The categories of performance evaluation include: chapter operations, leadership, scholarship, and community giving. These assessments are based on your chapter specifically. This is the most holistic award for chapter operations, so any and all activities may be considered upon review of your submission.

Delta Award

The Delta Award of Delta Kappa Epsilon recognizes the chapter that is most improved in its operations over the course of the academic year. Like the lion trophy, our evaluators assess a variety of criteria holistically and specific to your chapter. This award gives you a chance to tell your story about how it better represents DKE’s mission, values, and experiences.

Napolitano Award

Each year Delta Kappa Epsilon recognizes the most outstanding chapter president with the Napolitano Award and accompanying cash prize. Winners are those who have made significant contributions to the success of their chapters and advanced the values of Delta Kappa Epsilon. The Napolitano Award was created in memory of Nick Napolitano, Psi Delta ‘12. Nick served as chapter president of Psi Delta and is remembered as a scholar, an athlete, and a leader. At the age of 23, Nick passed away while saving the life of another Deke. His ultimate sacrifice is honored annually by this award, recognizing those who carry on his passion for DKE.

Henderson Award

Named in honor of William ‘Bill’ Henderson, Zeta Zeta ‘39, the Henderson award is given to the DKE alumnus who has most contributed to the success of a chapter. Past winners have been noted for helping to start and restart chapters and assisting those already in operation. Bill Henderson himself served as Executive Director of Delta Kappa Epsilon and Editor of the Deke Quarterly. Bill’s decades of dedication to DKE serve as an inspiration and ideal for all alumni. The Henderson Award serves as recognition for the alumni who volunteer their time and expertise in supporting the fraternity’s chapters and brothers.
