The Founding of Gamma
The Gamma chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon was originally founded at the University of Nashville in 1847. The chapter disbanded before the Civil War but returned in 1889, this time at Vanderbilt University. The current Associate Chapter has been on campus for the past 2 years.
- DKE’s Executive Director, Doug Lanpher, is a Brother of Gamma
- Gamma was the first fraternity on Vanderbilt’s campus
- Gamma is the 3rd oldest DKE chapter
Philanthropy and Service
Members of Gamma raise money for Movember each November. In 2020, members rallied together to surpass their goal and bring awareness to men’s health.
Awards and Recognition
- One of Gamma’s members is an international student from Cyprus who is also a Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar
